Notes of cassis, dried summer leaves, with hints of coffee and smoked meats. Aromatics move through onto the palate. The berry fruit is fresh and generous. Sitting comfortably and pedestalling the fruit through the length of the palate are complementary fine tannins and oak phenolics. A dark richness is enveloping, yet remains elegant and refined. Medium bodied, and well structured, this wine can be cellared for 8+ years.
