2021 Louis Vineyard Original Block Chardonnay

The Original Block was planted by Louis Bialkwer in 1983 to the Californian Chardonnay clone, Martini, classified locally as I10V1. Now 40 years old, these vines on our Louis Vineyard produce Chardonnay fruit of such high quality that they justify single block expression.
Crafted from hand picked fruit, whole bunch pressed direct to barrel with a cool, wild ferment, the wine preserves the subtle fruit flavours of the clone while also enhancing the mineral and sea salt characteristics derived from the vineyard soils. The resulting wine is complex yet elegant.
